Challenges and Innovations in Postoperative Care: A Review of Medical-Surgical Nursing Interventions

Postoperative care is a fundamental aspect of medical-surgical nursing, encompassing a wide range of interventions to ensure optimal recovery, minimize complications, and improve patient outcomes. Advancements in infection control, wound care techniques, structured discharge education programs, and multidisciplinary care models have further optimized patient recovery. Future directions in postoperative care should emphasize the role of emerging technologies, strengthen nursing education, standardize care guidelines, and implement policy reforms to enhance efficiency and patient-centered care.
